Answering A Letter On The Trinity

All right, I got a letter here in the mail the other day. It says: “Brian you keep teaching on your YouTube channel and others that God has three parts not three persons, have you lost your mind?” I got to thinking about that. No, I’m pretty sure it’s still up here. 😉

“Surely you understand that the English language does not have to use the word person to teach somebody as a person, right?” Okay… “You just simply need the word he. You do understand what the word he means and how it can be used in English, I assume? Apparently not.”

A little doublespeak here.

“So I’ve enclosed a few things to help you out.”

All right, there is distinction in the Godhead, okay? But if you’re trying to say that there are three persons, you’re not dealing with scripture, you’re dealing with man-made tradition. Now if you’re trying to say, you know, I mean there’s a lot of us that have made the mistake of adopting a lot of this Trinitarian language and will say God in three persons– Peter Ruckman was famous for this. He would say Trinity, and he would say three persons, and God the Son, God the spirit; he used that language. But then when he explained it, he said, God the Father is the soul Jesus Christ is the body the Holy Ghost is the spirit…
